I was born in Larvik, Norway on September 12, 1958. My parents, Rolf Arthur (Art) AHLGREEN and Edith Reidun ALM decided to move to Goldenrod, FL, USA, when I was 5 months old. I attended St. Luke's Lutheran School in Slavia (near Oviedo), FL for elementary and middle school. I then attended Colonial High School (Class of 1970) in Orlando, FL and Brevard Community College (1970-1972) in Cocoa, FL, where I majored in electronics. I worked at the Goldenrod Market while I was going to school, progressing from bagboy to meat cutter. After a brief (3 months in 1972) employment at Martin Marietta/Orlando, as a fabricator in their project engineering lab, I was hired as an electronics technician by RCA as part of their contract with the Eastern Space and Missile Test Range. I was assigned to the US Naval Ship (NS) Vandenberg, ported out of Honolulu, HI, for its Pacific Ocean missions.
